Located in Würzburg, in the heart of the Franconia (Franken) wine region, Weingut am Stein is a distinguished family-run winery led by Ludwig and Sandra Knoll in the 5th generation. The vineyards lie on the steep, limestone-rich slopes of the famous “Würzburger Stein” and neighbouring great sites like Stettener Stein and Innere Leiste — terrain that gives the wines strong minerality, clarity and terroir-expression.

Since the mid-2000s the estate has embraced organic and biodynamic viticulture across its sites, eschewing synthetic pesticides and emphasising manual work, especially on steep slopes. Their wines are known for a lean, dry style: precise, mineral-driven, rooted in site and grape variety rather than showy fruit. A flagship example is Silvaner from old vines or their top Rieslings from Stettener Stein.

How to Use It in Your Label Design

  1. Insert the file into your label layout (Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, or any label software).
  2. Keep the proportions (1:1). Do not stretch or distort.
  3. Minimum size:
    • Recommended: 25–30 mm width for wine labels
    • Absolute minimum: 20 mm
  4. Keep a little breathing room around the code. (Already built in.)

Printing Requirements

Most printers and print shops handle QR codes flawlessly — no special adjustments needed.

For optimal results:

  • Print at 150 dpi or higher
  • Avoid metallic foil or glossy varnish directly over the code
  • Make sure ink does not smudge on matte textures
